FAQs

General

What are your lead times?

Lead times are typically up to 2 weeks for larger jobs and 2-4 days for smaller jobs. Once your order is paid for, we’ll calculate an estimated completion date, ensuring attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.

Can I pay for a faster lead time?

We currently don’t offer expedited lead times, as every cabinet is crafted with care to ensure high-quality standards. However, we always strive to deliver orders as efficiently as possible within our standard timeframes.

Can I get a refund if I don’t like the cabinet?

Unfortunately, we don’t offer refunds for custom orders, as each cabinet is made to your specifications and cannot be resold. Please review your design carefully before placing an order.

If I request my cabinets flat-packed, what do I get with the kit?

Your flat-packed cabinet kit will include all the necessary components, such as panels, shelves, and doors, to assemble your custom cabinet. If you require hardware like screws or CAM fittings, you’ll need to select this option during the ordering process.

We ensure our kits are user-friendly, with high-quality parts designed for easy assembly using basic tools like a screwdriver. Clear instructions are also included to guide you through the process.

Do you offer a warranty for your cabinets?

Yes, all our cabinets come with a 3-year warranty. If you experience any manufacturing defects within this time, contact us for prompt assistance.

How do I receive the cabinets?

You can pick up orders from our Brookvale workshop at 1/13 Chard Rd, Brookvale NSW 2100, and we can forklift them onto your flat-bed ute, van or truck.

Ordering

Can I get a quote for my project?

Our online ordering system costs up the cabinetry as you fill out the form, so you’ll see pricing before placing your order.

I’m worried I’ll make a mistake with my order—can you help?

We’ve put together a series of short help videos to guide you through using our online design tool, making it easy to create and submit your order with confidence. You can find them on our Help page.

Can I amend my order after it’s placed?

Once your order is submitted, changes may not be possible. Contact us via email sales@hayandco.com.au immediately to check if adjustments can be made.

Can I order matching cabinets later?

Yes, we keep records of past orders, so you can request matching cabinets in the future.

How can I receive support on my order?

Contact by email only – no phone support. Email: sales@hayandco.com.au.

Customisations

What materials or colours can I choose from?

We use Polytec and Laminex materials as standard with options available in the online ordering system. If you’d like to use other materials, please contact us directly to discuss.

Can I buy my cabinet pre-painted or primed?

We don’t currently offer painting or priming services. Instead, we use laminated MDF panels in various colours. For painted finishes, we can recommend a trusted local spray painter.

Are there any restrictions on the customisations or materials?

While we offer fully bespoke cabinets, some limitations apply:

  • Maximum panel length: 2400mm.
  • Minimum width for edge banding: 50mm.

If you’re unsure whether your design will work, contact us for clarification.

Cabinet features & options

Are the shelves adjustable?

Yes, all shelves are adjustable by default, unless you choose fixed shelves. Adjustable shelves use pins, with pre-drilled holes for flexibility.

Do the hinges and drawers have soft-close features?

Yes, all our hinges and drawer runners include a soft-closing mechanism.

Can I order just doors or drawers for an existing wardrobe?

Yes, you can order doors or drawers separately via the order form.

Services

Do you offer a fitting or installation services?

We do not provide installation services, but our cabinets are designed for easy assembly. Panels are clearly labelled, to assist with identifying the parts and we endeavour to package all jobs with cabinets in their order where possible.

We can also provide recommendations of local fitters/installers who can assist you if needed.

Can you visit to measure my space?

We don’t offer home visits. If you’re unsure about measurements, we can recommend a fitter to assist you.

Assembly

What tools will I need?

Most cabinets only require a screwdriver (preferably powered) and a hammer. In some cases, such as where fillers are used to create a built-in look, a jigsaw, planer or other similar tools may be required to trim the panels.

How much experience do I need to assemble and install a cabinet?

Not as much as you think. We aim to make our cabinet’s as easy to assemble as possible. For complex projects, some DIY experience and extra tools may be helpful. Contact us if you’re unsure.

How do your cabinets fit together?

Our cabinets are assembled using screws, with pre-drilled holes for straightforward assembly.
